ORTHODOX TEA GRADES

Orthodox Tea Grades classify teas made using the traditional “orthodox” method, which preserves the whole leaf and its natural flavor. These grades are based on leaf size, appearance, and quality. The main Orthodox tea grades include:

  • Whole Leaf Grades: Flowery Orange Pekoe (FOP), Orange Pekoe (OP), Pekoe (P), and Souchong
  • Broken Leaf Grades: Broken Orange Pekoe (BOP), Broken Pekoe (BP).
  • Fannings: Smaller broken particles ideal for strong, quick infusions.
  • Dust: The finest particles, producing a dark, brisk liquor.

Each grade offers distinct aroma, strength, and flavor, catering to varied consumer preferences across global tea markets
